Senior: Saturday saw a welcome return to winning ways for the Senior team with a maximum points return from the home game with Old Crescent RFC. There is little time to pause for breath for the team as they face their next assignment immediately. This time Ballymena will be the visitors, this is the re-fixture of the game which had been scheduled for February 24th but had to be postponed due to poor pitch conditions.

Ballymena have recently pulled off a few notable wins in their quest to stay clear of relegation trouble in what is now a seriously bunched bottom half of the table. Last Saturday saw them put a serious dent in Cashel’s bid to hunt down Nenagh for the automatic promotion spot with a win over the south Tipperary side at home in Eaton Park. Nenagh will need to be alive to the threat of a team who came to Nenagh at a similar time last year and pushed the home side all the way, taking two bonus points out of Lisatunny, a feat that few have managed in recent times. Kick off on Saturday is at 2.30pm with Ireland’s game in Twickenham to be screened afterwards. A great day’s rugby is on offer for just €10 admission so we encourage all fans of the oval ball to get to Lisatunny on Saturday.

The action doesn’t finish there as on Sunday, Nenagh’s U20.5 side make their own little bit of history when competing for the club’s first shot at provincial silverware at this level. They take on local rivals UL Bohemians in the final of the Donal Walsh Plate in Tralee RFC on Sunday at 1pm. The fielding of a side at this grade for the first time in a long number of years has been a massive highlight of the year for the club. Massive credit is due to Rob Buckley and his coaching team for their work in bringing this side through the year and making it to a final in what is a verify competitive and challenging age grade. The scale of their achievement is summed up in the fact that only 8 teams across the province fielded at this grade for the complete season.

While the journey to Kerry is long, we would massively appreciate any travelling support, who can make it to Tralee on Sunday to cheer on this really exciting group of players. Best of luck to them from all at Nenagh Ormond RFC.

U9: Nenagh Ormond under 9s hosted Estuary, Ballina/Killaloe & Bruff this Sunday for our first home blitz this season. Nenagh fielded 4 teams on a dry, sunny morning - perfect for rugby.

There were some great performances across the teams & some great teamwork ending in lots of scores.Thank you to the other clubs involved for travelling and to our own parents and supporters for their support on the day.

Congratulations: A huge congratulations to our U18.5 player Fionn O Meara who has been selected as part of the training squad for the Irish U18 schools team.
